Hank's originally opened in 1977 under Wally Wood, one of the members of the Gay and Lesbian Gang. It closed sometime in the following years, but was re-opened at a different location in 1987 and has served the Orlando LGBTQ+ community since then. ]]>

The Parliament House Motor Lodge, originally established in 1962, was purchased by Mike Hodge and Bill Miller after the Orlando tourism industry moved south toward Disney World. Miller and Hodge re-opened the lodge as a gay resort, one of the oldest in the United States. It has served the Orlando LGBTQ+ community since its opening as a gay resort on May 5, 1971, host to a number of pageants, community events, and drag performances.]]>
